DLSE personnel changes, some good, some bad

When Lauro Cons retired, it was a great day for the California public. His public service career consisted of sucking up to Susan Nakagama and Greg Rupp. When Greg Rupp retired, he knew that he was so hated by DLSE staff that he went out with a whimpering cry & demanded that there be no retirement dinner for him. With these retirements, gaps were created. Victor Jurado became a DLC IV for BOFE: who would have thunk it? Nance Steffen tried to break it off in his ass when she banished him to NorCal for several years, even though she knew that Victor had to care for his mother down in So Cal.

Once Victor begged for mercy was he allowed to return to So Cal, and now that Nance Steffen was pushed out of the way (sent to Public Works after her cheerleading for that CMS abortion), Victor actually got promoted! Rumor has it that when he was in Long Beach, the first hour of Victor's working day was spent with the Los Angeles Times in the men's bathroom stall. It's not that he wasn't there, you just had to know where to find him, but I digress.

So DLSE pushed Nance Steffen into Public Works, and they pushed Susan Nakagama into Public Works after she retaliated against an employee who filed a workers comp. claim, but you'll see no real evidence of that because DLSE doesn't believe in transparency, just innuendo and "no correlation." With Lauro Cons retiring, some other idiot had to replace him, and who was the perfect idiot bureaucrat? Diana Chen! While she was a supervisor at BOFE, she had a record number of subordinates requesting transfers, so things weren't working out at BOFE.

Henry Huerta was producing the stats needed for his group and Tongkun Kim was producing the stats for his group: why break what isn't broken? Diana Chen had to go, because Susan knows nothing about field audits, field enforcement, and she is deathly afraid of public speaking, so someone gotta dig the ditch, and it's Diana Chen. The bonus is that in a republican-controlled administration, there are about ZERO public debarrments, so it's not like these 3 stooges are doing anything except collecting a paycheck. A great start to the new year with Diana Chen & Susan Nakagama paired up as the moron twins. Thanks for making California a better place by staying out of the way!

Supervisor Whore-hay Gomez moved Hearing Officer Jim Jackson's office so Whore-hay could have the biggest office in Santa Ana...go Whore-hay!

This is how arrogant, dim-witted, and short-sighted DLSE supervisor Jorge "Whore-hay' Gomez is as well as why Gomez has no friends in the Santa Ana office. Hearing Officer Jackson needs a big office so he can accomodate Plaintiffs, Defendants, and their representatives in the wage claim formal hearings. DLSE Assistant Chief Nance Steffen understood this, which is why Gomez had a smaller office. As a professional and personal "fcuk you" to Nance Steffen, Gomez moved Jackson once Steffen was no longer part of Gomez's chain of command. As an office reference, Regional Manager Abigael Calva has the smallest office in Los Angeles, and she is Gomez's boss.

Gomez doesn't need an office that big because he doesn't have clusters of people congregating there all at once, but his ego does need an office that big. It's one of the ways a very small person feels bigger. Gomez doesn't give a crap about the public because the DLSE Santa Ana office is all about Gomez and his arrogance. He will tell the public, "my deputy will do this, my deputy will do that," etc. These are not his deputies; he doesn't pay our salaries. His job is to direct our work, and we are not his employees.

RM Calva lets him get away with this because Calva doesn't give a sh*t; she's just here to collect a check until she retires...it seems that every DLSE manager over 50 is here just to sit on their ass and to collect a free check, nothing gets dones around this shithole to really help people, and it starts with letting *ssholes like Gomez take the biggest office in Santa Ana just because his ego wants it.

Lupe Almaraz retires, DLC III exam in LA, Supervisor's retreat meeting in Nor Cal, info request on Culbeaux & Baker

DLSE Deputy Chief Lupe Almaraz sent Labor Commissioner Angela Bradstreet his resignation letter; he's set to go away on 12/31/2007. At the end of the day, he did nothing for this department except spike his retirement paycheck...once again, screwing over the taxpayers! After Lupe's gone, ain't nobody named to be in charge of Wage Claims. It would be nice to see Nance Steffen come back as the Wage Claim Assistant Chief, but she's only going to get the blessing of staff by removing Regional Manager Abigael Calva's taxpayer-paid commute vehicle from Calva's possession.

The taxpayers don't need to pay for Calva's commute. CASE IN POINT: her lazy ass, having a state vehicle assigned to her, made Deputy Labor Commissioner Bruce Broadwater drive from Santa Ana to Los Angeles to discuss an item of importance. He had to use his car & his mileage even though the state gives her a vehicle of her own. Normally, if state auditors would ask WTF(?) she does with her car, she'd tell them that as Regional Manager, she's responsible for all these offices in So Cal...total bullsh*t. Her lazy ass goes nowhere and makes her staff come to her. Typical, lazy, bureaucratic, cow.

The recent Deputy Labor Commissioner III (DLC 3) exam came down to So Cal. Here's my prediction: they will pass & pick whoever they want to pass & pick because these assholes do not know how to keep themselves in check. Ferchrist, the State Personnel Board provides no oversight, and even when the California Supreme Court provides their oversight in their Corrales decision, Labor Commissioner Angela Bradstreet does nothing to Greg Rupp-the whore (at the time) for Jose Millan who screwed over all those wage claimants & violated their due process. These douchebags cannot self-regulate, and we're supposed to think that they'll righteously promote someone from a merit-based exam? They can't (even) follow laws, much less policies.

Last but not least, the desk donkies wasting money from the taxpayer's bank accounts opened the spigot for the supervisor's meeting in Nor Cal (11/04-06/2007). Now, these money wasters justified expeditures like video conferencing in offices so that they can hold meetings via video conferences. Why must they waste more money on airline tickets, lodging, meals, and time? We need computer software like Adobe Acrobat and scanners, but these money wasters sit around for three days, butt-kiss, and bray like an old goat about how to make the system worse. Bend over taxpayer, and try to exhale gently.

I have a contact who's looking into CMS, and I need the names of people who have details about Culbeaux, Baker, et al. Specifically, I need names and phone numbers because that's what the reporter needs. Mail it to: T. Zatori, PO Box 26212, Austin, TX 78755. Copies of anything can be sent here, and I will scan them and post them for all to see (like the examination fraud investigation). It will be forwarded to me. I don't want the names posted here, as they will be targeted for retaliation.
