Deputy Labor Commissioner Mary Tokar retires, Santa Ana DLSE Office has 3.5 wage claim staff (normally 7) to handle Corrales conferences

It seems that Labor Commissioner Bradstreet seems to be driving people away; I wonder what numbers she can produce on employment levels, comparing what they were to what they are. In any event, I'm sure she'll have a good excuse as to why she's failing & not getting the job done...she seems to be an excellent excuse-maker.
With DLC Mary Tokar retiring, the Santa Ana office continues to operate at an unsatisfactory and a substandard level, not that the DLSE has any standards!
The public continues to receive a disservice because the management jackasses (Angela Bradstreet, Abigael Calva, Lupe Almaraz) continuously fail to anticipate what's around the corner. Having settlement conference deputies at 50% capacity (3.5 versus 7) means that the public gets f*cked: the public unnecessarily wait longer, justice delayed is justice denied. It's as if Angela Bradstreet thinks of the Corrales decision as something to wipe her ass with, because she's not helping the taxpayer with her lame-ass band-aid memos. She gives the Santa Ana office 7 permanent, wage claim officers (instead of the 3.5), and that will go a long way toward getting rid of her Corrales headache.
I know that law school doesn't have a class in Common Sense; it's something one picks up in the streets and in dealing with regular people. I know it must be hard for Angela Bradstreet to make decisions for the common people while sitting atop her ivory tower in Saulsalito. She should go hang in the Tenderloin, Mission District, or Hunter's Point sometime...but she might be too afraid to leave her limo.

If Angela Bradstreet made correcting the time period deficiencies with the 98a process, pointed out in Corrales by the Court of Appeals, her number one objective that would be a good thing. However, if she thinks she can just issue memos telling us how to fix it without analyzing the problem she then becomes the most arrogant Labor Commissioner we have ever had. And we have had some dillies. Most of them have left their names behind on court cases that spanked us for being less then compassionate with the labor force which we are suppose to be protecting, as in Corrales v. Bradstreet. The only way she is going to resolve the issue is to identify what is causing the problem, and that she has failed to do. The first thing she should do is make sure that every wage claims office is man loaded with enough personal to accomplish the job. Then if things are still running slow she will need to see if the current management staff is capable of getting the correct amount of work out of the work force. Just doing those two things in my opinion will probably correct the problem. But it will never happen until Angela comes down off of her high horse and starts communicating with her non-lawyer employees, which she has failed to do.

The same people that fixed the four tests, so that Eric Root would get the job, are the same people that are responsible for screwing up the Labor Commissioner's Office. To do this kind of thing you have to believe that you are so smart that you won't get caught. Quakenbush, the former Insurance Commissioner who fell from grace, started out believing he was the smartest man in the world. He surrounded himself with nothing but yes men and he thought he could do anything and get away with it. Of course his arrogance finally caught up with him and he just narrowly escaped from going to jail. Sheriff Corona, in Orange County, another fellow who thought he was smarter then anyone else and surrounded him self with yes men will be very lucky if he does not go to jail. Angela Bradstreet has never figured out that the same people she is getting her advice from are the same people that advised the last four Labor Commissioners. These are the people who let a deputy in the Santa Ana office get away with doing nothing for fifteen years and then panicked when her stats were published on the BLOG. Angela Bradstreet is a very arrogant lady who thinks she is smarter then everyone else, and she is surrounded by yes men and women. It doesn't seem possible for her to come out of this well.

If the Senior Deputy in the Santa Ana office let a Deputy get away with doing nothing for fifteen years, he and his immediate supervisor should be fired. The problem is that management is never held responsible.

If someone were to impregnate Angela Bradstreet, she might come down off of her pedestal and show a little compassion for her employees and the people they serve. She might even like it. Probably not! I am not volunteering for the job.

The word is out that the new Labor Commissioner is so arrogant that she will not mix with lowly deputies or the clerical staff. How many offices has she visited since becoming the Labor Commissioner and introduced herself to the staff? You guessed it, zero. Even the attorney's are running scared. They are saying that once she is on your ass, forget it. Career dead! She is definitely a hit woman/man or whatever she proclaims to be. I say send her back to her elitist law firm where she can have power lunches, kiss political ass and push for the Rainbow Coalition which is her main agenda. Give us someone who cares about the workers of California as well as the staff that has been assigned to do the job. The memo she put out concerning Corrales supports the notion that she has no idea what the hell she is doing. Get this elitist bitch out of here before she ruins the whole division. I have yet to hear a good word about her other than she has an elitist girlfreind. What a winner!!!!!!!!!!!

Angela is here for one thing only. To promote gays and lesbains in the workplace. Nothern California people should know it. Look at the only garbage coming out of that gay Mark Leno. With the gays and lesbians hired by Arnold -- Angela Bradstreet, Rick Rice, Jose Millan, Dean Fryer to name only a few. It appears that the Governor Arnold may soon reveal his true identity -- that he is also gay.

We can then rename DIR to Department of Gays and Lesbians.

These personal anti gays posting are really irreverent to problems at the DIR.

The real problems are rampant incompetence, nepotism, and favoritism. Let focus on the real issues at the DIR.
