Taxpayers pay supervisor Jorge Gomez $80,000.00/year and all he's capable of doing is calling Abigael Calva; it's like she's his mom!

It seems that Jorge Gomez cannot wipe his behind, wipe his nose, or make a DLSE Santa Ana wage claim decision without calling his DLSE momma, Regional Manager Abigael Calva. I'm not sure when this euphemistic breast-feeding will stop, but I think 15 years is enough, don'tcha think?
How about this: we save the taxpayers $80,000+ in salary and benefits by getting rid of Jorge Gomez and just calling Abigael Calva ourselves?
Earlier today, Jorge Gomez spent almost the entire day on the phone with his DLSE mommie. DLC Lotts caused Jorge Gomez to be ineffectual & indecisive, and then DLC Jackson caused Jorge Gomez to be ineffectual & indecisive.
After all, this is the DLSE standard of what an $80,000/year bureaucrat does for the taxpayer: constipate the decision making process. He boasts of being the boss, like his life goal was to be some 3rd-rate low level manager, but when it really comes down to it, he can't pick his nose without picking up the phone to call Abigael Calva.
Everything, I mean everything, bottlenecks when you bring anything to that clown for a decision. That's why staff don't go to him unless it's absolutely necessary.

Jim Culbeaux make around $115,000 a year and he too contacts his big momma sister Christine Baker for the littlest of decisions. Jim Culbeaux is costing the State millions more in lost worker productivity and failed projects.

Jorge's problem is that he, like a lot of people in DLSE management, has great technical skills but does not have a lick of leadership skills. Jorge can recite the labor code, all of the industrial welfare commission orders and case law without missing a beat. He is a "go by the book" type of guy. However, for management there is no book for him to go by. He is lost, so he has no choice but to go to his superior for every little minuet detail. The Blog man has him down to a science, but he really hasn't thought this completely through. Because Jorge has no leadership skills there is a constant revolution going on in his office and this creates chaos and where there is chaos there is freedom. For 15 years Jorge had to put up with Mary Tokar's lack of production and she always got away with it because he didn't have a clue on how to handle her. There was no book for him to go by. The rest of his staff had no respect for him because he didn't do his job and this allowed them to feel comfortable goofing off as long as their goofing off didn't compare to Mary's lack of productivity. They got away murder. Blog man, remember "there is freedom in chaos". Please do not try to straighten out the Santa Ana Wage Claims Office. Some of us like it the way it is.

Gomez's management style is the same as his parenting style.

The one kid couldn't wait to leave the house, join the Air Force, get pregnant, and married. I'm sure THAT wasn't in his play book.

Who do you think took THAT phone call? "Dad, put mom on the phone."

He lives with his head in the sand, whether he's at home or at work. Santa Ana is screwed because Gomez is a moron, an arrogant moron.

Jorge is not an ignorant moron. Nevertheless he is a lot of other things. For example he is the cheapest person who ever had eighteen employees working for him. He never has lunch with any of his employee's. I think he is afraid he might have to buy. I do not believe he has a true friend on his staff. At Christmas time he gives out a very inexpensive Christmas card. It would be interesting to see how many business lunches he declares on his income tax. Poor Jorge; he doesn't have any idea that leadership requires that you take care of the people that perform for you; you look out for the people under you. Maybe if Jorge had ever served in the military it would have helped him. Jorge makes $80,000.00 per year, his wife probably makes the same and he doesn't give a nickel of it to anybody. The only person Jorge ever looked out for in his life is himself. The Santa Ana office has had enough of Jorge Gomez; I think it is time he was rotated out. Maybe we could get Diana Chen in his place that might create some real laughs.

Jim Culbeaux makes $9059 as a Data Processing Manager IV (DPM IV) + 5% Bay area differential = $9512 per month. Or $114,144 per year. He was one of the first to get a DPM IV position when it started around 8 years ago. The chiefs heading much bigger agencies like CalTrans only recently upgraded or still have DPM III as their highest IT position.

Those political contributions really paid off. Now the taxpayers are paying for the mess that Jim Culbeaux is creating.

Gomez is a liar and not to be believed. He recently finished his performance evaluations of his staff, and the one DLC that settled the most cases got screwed over again!

Gomez tells him that in order to receive a score of excellent, the DLC must have ZERO mistakes. Then another DLC asks Gomez how anyone can be perfect with no mistakes, then Gomez denies he said it.

He lies when it benefits him, and takes credit when it benefits him, and if you listen to him ramble long enough, he never makes mistakes, so his evaluation must be perfect!

That's why he scored so high on the DLC IV exam; oh wait, he FLUNKED it! 20 years on the job and still can't figure out that his style stinks, causing him to fail.

This guy, Jim Culboux has made it at DIR with $114000 in salary PY. I read on this site that Culbeaux was one the main player in charge of the development of the $6 million failed CMS project.

So in short, not only this guy recieving fat salary for his incompetence, he is costing the State millions in failed DIR IT projects!

ALL THE ABOVE IS TRUE AND I AM IN AGREEMENT. MY ONE EXCEPTION IS THE IDEA OF ROTATING JORGE TO ANOTHER OFFICE. IT HAS TAKEN YEARS TO TRAIN JORGE TO BECOME THE MANAGER HE IS. I WOULD HATE TO BELIEVE THAT ALL THESE YEARS WERE WASTED IN MOLDING JORGE. THE LAST THING WE WANT IN SA IS A COMPETENT MANAGER.

Downsize number of illegal Mexican aliens with criminal convictions by deportation. This should lead to an exit of their extended illegal families as well, improving state of sanitation, health care, education, crime, welfare, housing, work environment,,, economic cost very quickly. A numbers reduction, but lawfully performed in every aspect, should reduce outrageous demands for more, more, more entitlements and rancid behavior in American communities. Your adult and adolescent children are not a model to be proud of; again many but not all of you. I suspect many legal MAs are embarrassed by you and also wish you to get the fuck out of America.
