Vicki Tamoush complaint, DLSE cover-up, part 1 of 3 (click pic to enlarge & print)

Thank goodness that someone from DLSE-HQ mailed this to T. Zatori in Austin, TX. It took long enough for it to finally reach its destination. There's a spy in San Francisco, and more documents to certain to arrive at the PO Box in Austin, Texas.
Regional Moron Manager Abigael Calva came to Santa Ana on Firday, 01/18/08, to chew the fat with the ladies working at the Santa Ana office. This also includes supervisor Jorge Gomez, not really a woman. She's very busy bending over for Angela Bradstreet, as it was Angela that told Abigael Calva to re-schedule this hearing.
Labor Commissioner Angela Bradstreet has been sitting on her lazy ass doing nothing about this complaint made against Vicki Tamoush. Read all 6 pages. They itemize, with specificity, the unprofessionalism and discourteous treatment that has plagued virtually everyone that has entered Vicki Tamoush's door. Vicki Tamoush is a fat, fat, cancer who has tarnished DLSE's professionalism and has turned Jorge Gomez into a workplace eunuch. All of this is happening under Regional Manager Abigael Calva, who will work very hard to bury it, sweep it under the rug, and pretend that nobody complained. The trouble is, the State Personnel Board terminated Robert Watson
http://www.spb.ca.gov/documents/preced/watson.pdf
for the same issues (click the link to read the .pdf file). It's time to Abigael Calva to retire, and it's time to bring Vicki Tamoush to justice. Anything less than that warrants the immediate removal of Abigael Calva and Angela Bradstreet.
Attention Angela Bradstreet: your complaint investigations are unfit & gender-biased (protect the asses of women, but send complaints about males to the DIR's Office of the Director-Legal Unit), your managers are unfit, and you need to return to private practice as you are unfit to serve the public.

Rumor has it, that Tamoush has pictures of Jorge riding a donkey, in his birthday suit and a sombrero, in a Tijuana bar. Giddyup Cowboy!!!! I wonder what else he was riding? Maybe a wild buffalo. Just a thought!!!No wonder Tamoush has a free ticket to abuse the public and staff!

Vicki Tamoush is a second-generation Arab American whose grandparents immigrated to the U.S. from Syria and Lebanon. She has traveled throughout the Middle East and lived in Saudi Arabia for a year and a half. In December, 1990, she traveled to Iraq under the auspices of the Fellowship of Reconciliation to deliver 14 tons of pediatric medical supplies to the Red Crescent Society in Baghdad. She and her colleague offered to exchange themselves for the civilian hostages being held by Saddam Hussein at that time and ultimately secured the release of 181 Americans. Vicki served as the first Western Regional Director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee and was the first Arab American elected to the Board of Directors of the ACLU. She has been active with more than 25 Arab and pacifist organizations since 1978. From the standpoints of both a human relations professional and a victim, Vicki has presented over 500 workshops and lectures on hate crime and cultural diversity issues, also appearing in print and electronic media. Vicki was born and raised outside of San Bernardino, California and was educated at UC Irvine and Immaculate Heart College Center. She currently resides in Orange County.

A Hero, Norman Birnbaum
To the Los Angeles Times, July 12, 1999 (as submitted).

Thank goodness for heroes like Norman Birnbaum (July 11, 1999, “Why Do Zionists Fear Muslims on the Anti-terrorism Commission?”). It takes tremendous courage for anyone to stand up to the Zionists’ bullying—even more so for Jews. Gephardt is only one of many spineless legislators who respond to the Zionists’, “Jump!” with “How high?”

But change is occurring, however slowly. AIPAC, the ADL and other Jewish organizations are enjoying fewer and shallower victories as the American people reject the constant intimidation to which our nation has been subjected in the areas of foreign and domestic policy, foreign aid and legislation. Because brave souls like Birnbaum risk their careers and lives to speak out against injustice, Arab Americans will one day enjoy the full spectrum of human rights accorded to Jews and all other Americans.

Vicki Tamoush, Tujunga, CA

Sounds like she is part of a cell. We need to be concerned.

Holy Sh_t Batman, who do we have amongst us. Speeches about "Zionist bullying", ACLU member,Sending supplies to Iraq, member of (25) arab organizations, travel throughout the mideast and roots in Syria and Lebanon. No wonder Jorge is scared shitless of her as well as Abby. Homeland Security most likely has her labeled as a "high risk" individual. It is all finally coming together as to her hate of attorney's, other than ACLU attorneys. This is a very dangerous individual who definitly needs watching. Why didn't Saddam Hussein take her in exchange for a hostage? Maybe a food shortage or maybe she is one of them. Well, his good luck has become our bad luck.

I cannot believe what I am reading about Tamoush. She is behind the Palstinian cause as well as being anti-semitic. If you do not believe this, then just go to google and insert her name. Her past is finally catching up with her. You can run but you cannot hide.

I really did not believe what I was reading until I went to Google. Tamoush has numerous articles indicating her disdain for jews and her anti-semitic stance. How can Tamoush possibly hold an impartial hearing if the employee or employer is Jewish or Arab. Her bias is so great she should never be allowed to hold hearings at all. It is time that someone contacts the Jewish Defense League or Mark Rosen a Jewish attorney in the Orange County area. Tamoush has finally crossed the line and that line smells of discrimination.

I don't have any personal knowledge as to whether Ms. Tamoush is a good hearing officer or a bad hearing officer. But I do know that her political views about the Palestinians and their struggle for a homeland have nothing whatsoever to do with her job as a hearing officer. Opposition to Zionism does not mean that she is anti-semitic or prejudiced against Jews. And it certainly does not mean that she is biased against Jews who appear in front of her at a hearing. You are making a dangerous and unwarranted leap that indicates nothing more than your own prejudice against a particular ethnic group. If you have specific evidence of bias, fine, let's hear it, but telling us that she's active in an Arab anti-discrimination organization doesn't tell me anything about her ability to conduct unbiased hearings. Or are you suggesting that hearing officers must pass a political test on whether they support or oppose the Israeli settlements in the occupied territories? Should we also inquire about hearing officers' views about independence for Northern Ireland, the break-up of Yugoslavia, or the status of Taiwan? Isn't the only relevant question whether a hearing officer treats the litigants fairly, carefully weighs the evidence, and applies the law correctly to the facts before her? Or am I missing something here?

To the person who posted the last message... are you seriously attempting to equate the defense of civil liberties with the trampling of civil rights that is an hourly occurance in the DLSE?

Tamoush is an example of a DLC who has stepped outside the bounds of their role.

This DLSE is FUNDED by the taxpayers who are LOSING their rights to this renegade activity.

Why should honest American citizens be stripped of their hard work, penalized by Tamoush's distorted sense of reality, and then be handed a verdict which is unlawful.

I have no problem with Tamoush vocalizing her opinions in the op/ed page of the LA Times.

I DO have a problem when California tax dollars are used to PAY this person to do her dirty deeds.

A person who is this active in an ethnocentric organization can be so self-focused on their ethnic identity that they lose sight of the commonality of being a citizen of the United States.

This then becomes a bias in a legal process which is very damaging to the people or corporations that come their way.

Now there's an idea. Let's not use taxpayer money to pay the salary of any state worker who is active in an "ethnocentric organization." That'll pass First Amendment muster, don't ya think? Who'll be left, a couple of Episcopalians?

I am not aware of any permit which allows racism or bias to sit in a PUBLICLY FUNDED office.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Note: It does not say that government can be USED to limit the ability of the individual to "Petition the government for a redress of grievances".

DLSE's current behavior LIMITS the ability of business owners and stockholders to have appropriate petition of the government.

Keep the intelligent comments coming! This is where the real power is. Anyone without something intelligent to add should not comment on anything. If you just want to toss out a shallow rant about your hate and frustration around someone's personal beliefs, gender, orientation, etc., get a therapist. If you've been screwed over by someone in the DLSE get over it. The world is full of injustice if you didn't know that. Get off your ass and stand up with some real substance or just shut up and learn. But don't just waste your opportunity to make a better world by acting with the same low-end thought processes which you may be surrounded by. The comments which come across which have a clearly ignorant tone are either from genuine low end DLSE idiots who are part of the problem or from the opposition to the blog...oh yeah...also genuine DLSE idiots who are part of the problem but now want to maintain status quo since they are up the food chain.
The last few comments are excellent and they will keep the pressure on the ignorance.

Vicki Tamoush is a paranoid schizophrenic who believes the world is against her. Maybe this is from her roots in Syria and Lebanon where violence is an everyday affair. Tamoush lashes out at men in particular and lawyer's do not have a chance. For those outside the Santa Ana Office, there is a parade of claimants and defendant's making complaints against her. There is only one interpreter left who is willing to interpret for her and numerous attorney's who request other hearing officers. Tamoush's paranoia runs the gamut from people asking what kind of car she has, pictures missing off her wall, being called a Gray Davis, kickback from interpreters, being run off the freeway etc etc etc. Maybe, just maybe she is not a bigot although she writes like one, she definitely has a screw loose.

I have personally observed Vicki Tamoush. She seems to hate men, she seems to hate all attorneys, and she seems to hate attractive women. Woe onto the pretty, female attorney! In a Vicki Tamoush hearing, a wage claimant has a better chance of justice if she's a 300lb., fugly, non-attorney female claimant representing herself. Is this justice perverted? Yes. Will the DLSE do anything about it? No. If she thinks the DLSE might jam her up, then she might have some Arab or Palestinian church/political group starting inundating the DLSE with threatening legal letters, because I'm sure she will not hesitate to throw down that race card. I just wish they would transfer her to Long Beach so she can be Victor Jurado's butt kisser.

If the blog can't raise to a higher level then it should stop. Who's got the guts and smarts to participate? Your job and pension are not on the line if you participate in freedom of speech in a non-dafamitory way and simply shine light on the DLSE in ways which bring up outsider awareness. Or...if you want to be part of the sick part of the blog, then do that. History will judge this thing. If it doesn't affect a real change in the long run, then it will just prove that it is a part and a symptom of that which it is trying to confront. The court has backed it as legitimate. Now use it accordingly. Forget the one-on-one nit picking and go for arguements about the system. That's how you pressure those in power in a way which causes loss of sleep and other uncomfortable symptoms. They are smart and fear smart opposition. This is right here in front of you and is a great opportunity...unless you are too stupid to realize it. We shall see what the final score as to "stupidity and selfishness" vs. "doing the right thing" is sooner or later.

That pig Vicki Tamoush is trying to scare everyone here at DLSE. Not to worry the only ones to loose their jobs will be Vicki Bradshaw, Angela Bradstreet, John Duncan, Vanessa Holton, MGinty, Jim Culbeaux, Dean Fryer and John Rea. These individuals are here to create a deficit for California.

I could not find any contact information on your blog. Could you please email me?

m.michaelis80@gmail.com

I have been having a terrible time with a case for two years I brought forth to the los angeles division and would like some perspective on it and if i am doing the right thing about it. the conference was rescheduled 4 times and the hearing 7 times now.

Abigael Calva and Denise Padres were cc'd on the last letter I got from the manager there.

It's not DLSE employees that respond to this blog. So our jobs and pensions are not on the line. Many outsiders read and also respond to this blog.

It's not the blog that is slamming this person or that person as anti-semetic; it's the comments posted to blog entries. I'm sure Linda Fox is supporting Vicki Tamoush as Linda Fox is the only friend Vicki has; it's certainly not the people that attend Vicki's hearing or Vicki's co-workers.

Government work attracts many with strong political opinions. Race - based opinions is one major category. For instance staff appear to go easier on their own kind. Sometimes actions are criminal, i.e., BOFE personnel information disclosure; quid pro quo. One fix is to bring professionalism into hearing process, e.g., require state bar membership for hearing officers, ensuring accountability. This is how you fix the process; not by groundless character assassination. If you hate a racial group and you can't control yourselves then get out of the business and step aside.
