DLSE employee files grievance against Deputy Chief Denise Padres, then Padres suspends employee for using emails about telework/union activities!

Is there anything Denise Padres will not bend over for? Victor Jurado off-duty? Angela Bradstreet on-duty?
Padres suspended this DLSE employee, who has had an unblemished thirty (30)+ years in state service, for two (2) weeks. Padres put this employee on the beach because telework was requested, DLSE refused it, a subsequent grievance was filed, emails were exchanged, and then WHAM! DLSE employee suspended for union activity using the state's email system.
How come DLSE cannot apply that same type of discipline with the email exchanges of Vanessa Holton and Lloyd Aubrey? Labor Standards has no labor standards: unfair, uneven, unrepentant all the time...welcome to DLSE.

Dear 2/03/2009 10:00 PM, You'd probably like to abolish minimum wage and overtime laws too, after all that's what DLSE enforces.

DLSE doesn't enforce anything.
DLSE just makes up it's own rules and thinks they can STEAL private assets from shareholders and the workers of the companies.

But, DLSE DLC's wouldn't know squat about holding shares because all these fat state stooges really care about is their own pensions.

Well, eat your furlough and move to another state!

Dear 2/05/2009 12:04 AM poster, unfortunately for you the facts refute your uniformed view. DLSE collects thousands of dollars each year for employees who were cheated by their employers. Minimum wage and overtime laws are not "DLSE rules", they are laws made by the legislature. Many DLSE employees have worked in the private sector and know what it means to be a shareholder. Fortunately most employers go by the book and those that don't are typically the first to whine. I'm glad to go on furlough so my coworkers don't have to be laid off. Sorry you only care about yourself.

Most of the workers at DLSE actually do a decent job and care about the people they are helping, whether an employer or an employee. It is the MANAGEMENT of this agency that STINKS and has clearly forgotten what their actual mission is! They are too busy having affairs with each other and screwing over staff they don't like that focusing on the real issues facing them.

Well, Anonymous poster 2/8/09 at 2:23 PM, who said:

I'd like to know who we shouldn't hire in the future.

Perhaps you might want to open a copy of the Labor Code and read Section 98.6. If reading the law is too challenging for you, I'll give you the one sentence summary -it prohibits retaliating against employees and job applicants for having filed claims with the Labor Commissioner or for having testified or provided information to DLSE in connection with any claim.

It sounds like you're running an outfit that would greatly benefit from a BOFE investigation.

Shall we add up the unpaid wages you undoubtedly owe to employees you have cheated throughout the years?

Jim Culbeaux and his sister continue to rob the State of California. And muscle brain (Arnold Schwarzenegger) furloughs us to keep such scum on the public payroll so that they continue to drain the never-ending public trough.

Dear Labor Lawyer,

Your BOFE complaint is filled with a bunch of crap.

The reality is that your firm lies about the corporations functioning in this state.

You've bankrupted companies like Starbucks, Irvine Company, Boeing, Cheesecake Factory, and small guys like the local burger place and laudromat.

Each and every complaint filed by the illegal aliens and green card contractors who walk into DLSE and DIR should be public record.

The complaints against employers in this state are a joke.

I've personally spoken to business owners in this area who have been damaged by people like Christopher Lotts, Vicki Tamoush, N. Chopra, J. Gomez, et al.

These people are the equivalent of a fiscal Katrina on the businesses of Southern California.

This state has had enough of the Workers Comp claims, DLSE claims, and the DIR.

You and the other Labor Lawyer have created a depression in our land by the socialist rhetoric that spews from your mouth.

Not only were these people paid their wages, but they were OVERPAID.

This state claims to be defending the labor pool while decimating the valuation of corporate stock, evaporating the equity in businesses, and then complaining about the lack of jobs.

What a joke.

The labor lawyer crowd should pony up the cash.

How much money do you guys get from the state and the small businesses of this state by suing mom-and-pop companies into bankruptcy?

Do you guys have credit default swaps on small business loans?

Dear anonymous poster trying to engage with the anonymous poster trying to engage with the labor lawyer...

you're an ignorant graduate of a Santa Ana Unified school aren't you?

Or are you from Los Angeles and the 50% failure rate at LAUSD?

Get a real job in the private sector.

If you don't like your job, join the masses of the 15% unemployed and eat your unemployment, welfare checks, workers compensation check, Medi-Cal coverage for your family, and the rest of the $120,000 per year benefits that created your $500,000 foreclosed house on Main or Santa Ana ave.

This state is of full of cry babies and wanna be's.

Not only are you talking to a former farm worker, but you're talking to a minority too.

So, suck up your ghetto brand of self-agrandizing white trash racism and go get a life...

And, Chris, your home ain't worth that much...drop it by 30% on the ask you might be selling sooner.
